On January 16, 2025, Tashkent hosted the Uzbek-Chinese Business Forum, organized with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Uzbekistan. Over 400 participants attended the event, including the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Yu Jun, business representatives, and key officials from relevant ministries and departments of both countries.
The forum provided a platform to discuss new joint projects and deepen bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The focus was on investment prospects, development of key economic sectors and strengthening business ties between Uzbekistan and China.
R. Nesor, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, presented Uzbekistan's investment potential. She highlighted Uzbekistan's advantages as a reliable platform for foreign investors, emphasizing the government’s support measures for entrepreneurship and the favorable conditions for business operations.
The forum participants paid special attention to the New Tashkent construction project, presented by the First Deputy Director of the New Tashkent City Construction Directorate. He underlined the project’s importance in advancing infrastructure, improving environmental conditions, and integrating modern technologies. The vision for New Tashkent centers on creating an innovative and environmentally sustainable city that ensures a comfortable environment for living, working, and leisure.
The forum also addressed Uzbekistan's tourism potential. Speakers highlighted the country’s significant achievements in this sector, including increased tourist flows, the creation of new jobs, and major investments in tourism infrastructure.
The official program ended with an open dialogue with entrepreneurs, during which participants received detailed answers to their questions related to organizing a business in Uzbekistan.
After the forum, participants engaged in B2B and B2G meetings, where they established business contacts and discussed potential projects.
