On April 7–8, the delegation of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the XIV Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress 2025) held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Agency’s Director, Mansurjon Rasulev, discussed the strategic role of Central Asia in implementing sustainable projects aimed at developing value chains in the panel session titled “Asian Regional Focus Forum: Investing in Value Chains across Asia: Strategies and Opportunities for Sustainable Development.” The panel also featured a discussion on best practices for attracting foreign direct investment.

The delegation held meetings with representatives of multiple companies and international organizations, including the International Chamber of Commerce – UAE, Abu Dhabi Chambers, Exits MENA, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, FDI Center, Financial Times, Union of Arab Chambers, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (KOBİA), Gulf Business Consulting, TradeInvest, 1K Leaders, and Startup House. Additionally, the delegation met with Heather Taylor-Strauss, Head of the FDI Program at UN ESCAP, to identify practical steps for strengthening the Agency’s capacity and developing an investment promotion strategy with the involvement of international experts.

With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE, the delegation held extensive consultations and signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Australian company Allied Green Ammonia Pty Ltd. The agreement launched the collaboration process for developing an investment project focused on the production of environmentally friendly aviation fuel.

Moreover, the delegation participated in a roundtable organized by the World Economic Forum in cooperation with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade. The discussion centered on the implementation of the World Trade Organization’s Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement.
