The Investment Promotion Agency hosted a meeting with the Secretary General of CICA

On April 15, 2025, the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Ambassador Kairat Sarybay.

For information: CICA is a multilateral platform that brings together 28 member states with the goal of strengthening mutual understanding, cooperation, and stability across Asia.

During the meeting, the both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation through the CICA Business Council. The discussion centered on the Agency’s potential participation in the upcoming Council meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Baku this May. Both sides noted that the CICA Business Council plays an active role in promoting joint initiatives among member states and supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Sarybay announced the launch of a new initiative — a digital compendium of economic indicators from five participating countries — and invited Uzbekistan to join the project.
