On May 20, 2025, the 8th Plenary Session of the Business Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place in Baku. Representatives from 10 member countries, including the leadership of Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the event.

The session focused on key topics such as supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), integrating them into global supply chains, and promoting the green economy and digitalization.

In his online address, Mansurjon Rasulev, acting director of the Agency, underscored that the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remains a strategic priority of Uzbekistan’s national policy. He further highlighted that comprehensive reforms, initiated under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the volume of foreign direct investment in the country has increased tenfold. This significant growth has enhanced entrepreneurs’ access to financial resources and advanced technologies.

In conclusion of the session, the participants agreed to continue their dialogue at the next meeting of the CICA Business Council.
