The Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to expand international cooperation and strengthen investment ties. As part of this effort, the Agency signed four new cooperation documents with foreign companies – Scania Central Asia (Kazakhstan), Freedom Finance (Kazakhstan), Bart sp. z o.o. (Poland) and Metateks Oy (Finland).

Cooperation Agreement with Scania Central Asia

The Agency and the Kazakh subsidiary of Swedish industrial corporation Scania AB signed a cooperation agreement. The investor plans to implement a project to manufacture heavy trucks and tractor units in Uzbekistan. The parties also agreed to collaborate on project and technical documentation, attract qualified specialists, and organize meetings and negotiations with government agencies and private sector representatives to ensure the effective implementation of the project.

Memorandum of Understanding with Freedom Finance

The Agency and the Uzbek subsidiary of the international holding Freedom Holding Corp., which operates in over 23 countries, agreed to jointly promote Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities, participate in international forums and conferences, and exchange information on projects and potential partners.

Cooperation Agreement with Bart sp. z o.o.

The Agency also signed an agreement with the Polish company Bart sp. z o.o. to implement an investment project on freeze-drying fruits, berries, and vegetables in Uzbekistan. Under the agreement, the Agency will support the investor in establishing links with local agricultural producers and addressing certification, storage, and transportation issues related to raw materials.

Cooperation Agreement with Metateks Oy

The Finnish company plans to establish a production facility in Uzbekistan to manufacture eco-friendly packaging from phytomelioration plants using local raw materials. Under the agreement, the Agency will provide consulting support and help build connections with local suppliers.

These agreements reflect the Agency’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and fostering a modern investment environment in Uzbekistan, creating new opportunities for innovation, export growth, and high-skilled job creation.

Metateks Oy is a Finnish biotechnology startup founded in 2024 that develops regenerative biomaterials from phytomelioration plants.
