On July 5, 2025, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Korea Economic Cooperation Business Forum, bringing together over 100 representatives from the public sector and business communities. Companies from the energy, electrical engineering, and banking sectors actively participated in the event.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and the Mayor of Ulsan, Republic of Korea, Kim Doo Gyeom, delivered welcoming speeches. They emphasized the importance of strengthening investment partnerships, developing international trade, creating joint ventures, and expanding economic cooperation.

Following the opening ceremony, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding for comprehensive cooperation in the development of clean energy projects in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The signatories included the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Economic Assembly, the Ulsan City Government, and several major Korean companies – Korea East-West Power, Doosan Enerbility, Hyundai Engineering, LG Energy Solution, LS Electric, and Samsung C&T Corporation. The memorandum outlines the parties’ commitment to cooperate on the development of innovative and sustainable projects focused on renewable energy and liquefied natural gas technologies.

Acting Director of the Investment Promotion Agency, Mansurjon Rasulov, delivered a presentation on Uzbekistan’s investment climate. He highlighted successful joint projects with Korean partners, showcased opportunities in the electrical engineering sector, and introduced the investment potential of Uzbekistan’s largest urban development initiative – New Tashkent City.

The forum concluded with B2B meetings.
