On June 24, 2025, Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Malaysia business forum, which brought together representatives from over 30 leading Malaysian companies operating in sectors such as energy, food processing, agriculture, oil and gas, tourism, and pharmaceuticals.

The forum kicked-off with keynote speeches by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Djamshid Kuchkarov and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy and Water Transformation of Malaysia Fadillah bin Haji Yusof. In their remarks, both high-level officials emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries through further harmonization of standards, trade barriers elimination, improved connectivity, and cooperation facilitation among the business.

During the forum, officials from relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan delivered comprehensive presentations on the country’s business climate, the opportunities available in special economic zones, as well as the tax and customs incentives offered to investors.

Uzbek and Malaysian companies exchanged four documents, marking a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

The forum concluded with G2B and B2B consultations.
