Navoiyazot Ammonia and Urea Complex

Developed on the production grounds of JSC Navoiyazot, this modernized Ammonia and Urea Production Complex was built through a $985 million international project framework engineered by Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Mitsubishi Corporation. The project builds on Navoiyazot’s established role in nitrogen chemistry and the production of agricultural fertilizers.
The plant commissioned modern synthesis technology producing 660,000 tons of anhydrous ammonia and 577,500 tons of granulated urea annually, lowering natural gas consumption per ton of final product by more than 30%. Ammonia and urea connect the processing of natural gas with the manufacture of nitrogen products for industrial and agricultural use.
Replacing outdated generation units operating since the 1960s, the facility provides high-purity fertilizer granules to the agricultural sector and supplies chemical intermediate feedstocks for industrial plants across Uzbekistan. Modern production facilities support this relationship between Uzbekistan’s energy resources and its fertilizer industry.
