Investors can enter into agreements with the Government or private partners, depending on the nature and objectives of their projects. Each option offers a structured approach to defining the terms of cooperation and moving from negotiations to implementation.

Investment agreements with the Government

How the process works

  1. Submit a proposal

Submit the proposal to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MIIT), the Investment Promotion Agency of Uzbekistan, or other relevant state authorities, depending on the project.

  2. Coordinate review

The responsible state authority coordinates the required legal, financial and economic assessments with other relevant authorities.

  3. Cabinet of Ministers review

The proposal and expert conclusions are submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan for consideration.

  4. Sign the agreement

Following a positive conclusion, the foreign investor and the authorised state body sign the agreement.

  5. Formal approval

The agreement takes effect following approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, unless the relevant decision provides otherwise.
