Ammofos-Maxam

Located in Almalyk in the Tashkent region, Ammofos-Maxam JSC is the largest producer of complex phosphatic fertilizers in Uzbekistan, operating as a joint venture with Spain's MaxamCorp International (which owns a 49% stake). The enterprise specialises in phosphate chemistry, linking mineral resources with the production of agricultural nutrients.
The manufacturing complex processes washed phosphorite concentrate from the Central Kyzylkum deposits and industrial sulfuric acid to yield 217,500 tons of phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅) and 51,000 tons of nitrogen content per year. Its core product lines include monoammonium phosphate (ammophos), diammonium phosphate, ammonium sulfophosphate, and purified feed phosphates. Its processing operations turn mineral feedstock into fertilizer products with different nutrient compositions.
The plant supplies critical soil nutrients directly to domestic cotton and grain farms while distributing specialized phosphate products to export markets across the CIS. This focus connects the company directly with crop production and the supply of mineral nutrients to farms.
