Voltalia

French renewable-energy company Voltalia is developing a portfolio of solar, wind and battery-storage projects in Uzbekistan. Its first major project in the country is the Sarimay Solar Power Plant in the Khorezm Region, with an installed capacity of approximately 126 MW.

Financing for the project was arranged with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 252 GWh of electricity annually and avoid more than 141,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

Voltalia is also developing the broader Sarimay hybrid-energy complex, combining solar generation, wind power and battery storage. In addition, it was selected to develop the Uch-Uchak solar project. These investments strengthen electricity supply, improve the integration of renewable energy into the national grid and introduce modern energy-storage technology to Uzbekistan.
