Bukhara Varnet

Bukhara Varnet was developed with the participation of Turkey’s Varnet Group in the Bukhoro-Agro free economic zone. The zone was established in 2018 across five districts of Bukhara region to support hydroponic greenhouses, export-oriented agricultural production, new employment and modern greenhouse infrastructure.
During the presidential visit of 21 January 2021, official information placed the project’s total value above US$120 million and identified the programme as foreign direct investment. By that date, US$10 million in foreign investment had been directed to the project, 13 hectares of greenhouse facilities had been completed and more than 260 jobs had been created.
The enterprise developed beyond crop-growing facilities to include a training centre, a laboratory and capacity for producing greenhouse structures and components. This combination allows the project to support cultivation while also building technical skills and supplying equipment needed for additional greenhouse development.
An official regional update published in January 2026 reported that the enterprise, operating since 2018, had expanded its greenhouse area to 40 hectares. The operating site therefore combines Turkish greenhouse expertise with local production, workforce development and export-oriented horticulture in Bukhara region.
